We install standard drywall, fire-rated panels, moisture-resistant boards, soundproofing drywall, and specialty products like VOC-absorbing sheets. We’ll help you choose the right type based on your project.

  • Most common type for walls and ceilings in dry areas.
  • Comes in 1/2″ or 5/8″ thickness.
  • Moisture-Resistant (Green Board)
  • Used in bathrooms, laundry rooms, or basements.
  • Resists humidity, not waterproof (not for showers).

  • Improved mold resistance vs. green board.
  • Ideal for high-humidity areas.

Fire-Resistant (Type X or Type C)

  • Required by building codes in garages, furnace rooms, shared walls.
  • Type X = 1-hour fire rating; Type C = improved stability in high heat.

Soundproof (Acoustic or Soundboard)

  • Denser or layered with noise-reducing materials.
  • Used in media rooms, bedrooms, shared walls in duplexes or condos.

Paperless Drywall

  • Fiberglass surface instead of paper.
  • Resists moisture and mold better; more durable.

Specialty Drywall for Custom Projects

  • Flexible Drywall
  • Thin (1/4″) sheets used to form curves and arches.

Impact-Resistant Drywall

  • Reinforced core for high-traffic or commercial areas (schools, hospitals).

Lead-Lined Drywall

We stay clear of known danger zones, especially around bathrooms, kitchens, and utility rooms.

To prevent damage to pipes or electrical behind the walls, we follow strict safety and best practices.

How We Protect Hidden Utilities:

  • Review Blueprints & Markings
  • We consult plans and confirm utility locations before cutting or fastening.

Use Stud Finders & Scanners:

  • Mark Safe Zones
  • We mark all outlet, switch, and plumbing positions to avoid accidental damage.

Screw Depth Control:

  • Fasteners are installed at correct depth to avoid piercing anything behind the drywall.
  • Avoid Drilling Near Edges

Coordinate With Other Trades:

  • If needed, we confirm layout directly with plumbers or electricians.

The main difference between regular drywall and fire-rated drywall is in their fire resistance, due to differences in composition and performance.

Regular Drywall (White Board)

  • Core: Made of gypsum.
  • Use: Standard walls and ceilings in dry, non-critical areas.
  • Fire Resistance: Basic, offers some resistance but not rated for fire protection.

Fire-Rated Drywall (Type X / Type C)

  • Core: Reinforced with glass fibers and additives that slow fire spread.
  • Use: Required by code in Garages, Furnace rooms, Shared walls between units

Stairwells or shafts (Type C)

  • Fire Resistance:
  • Type X: 1-hour fire rating (standard)
  • Type C: Enhanced, holds structure longer in extreme heat

"There's a reason we keep using them...superior quality and fantastic service..."

I have personally worked with Centennial Drywall for almost 15 years. As a builder and renovator of high-end homes I rely heavily on our trade partners to execute their work the way that I would: with exceptional skill and caring. Romas and his team are always punctual; quick to offer suggestions of how to do something better; flagging potential problems before they're covered with drywall and providing exceptional quality control. Working with Centennial Drywall, it's obvious that they care about their reputation. I would highly recommend them for anyone needing drywall work.

"Centennial Drywall is the best!"

Very reliable, honest and respectful. We have been working with Romas' for about 6 years now and done dozens of projects together. Terrific craftsmanship and attention to detail. Always willing to come back for a 2nd or 3rd coordination if there were changes we had to implement.
